Chemical Peel

Do you want to enjoy the appearance of fresh smooth skin? Professional medical grade chemical peels are popular because they offer nearly immediate results. In a week or two, a healthier skin replaces the old one by stimulating cellular rejuvenation.

If you want to reduce or eliminate the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, even out sun-damaged skin, reduce age spots, reduce freckles, smooth out rough skin and uneven pigmentation, or if you simply just want to rejuvenate your skin call us today to schedule your consultation.

Skin peeling involves an application of chemical solution to sun-damaged, unevenly pigmented, and finely wrinkled facial areas. The procedure is meant to diminish imperfections by peeling away the skin’s top layers. It has proven to be a very popular cosmetic procedure; chemical peels vary according to their specific ingredients and their strength. Laser & Intensive Skin Care, PA uses salicylic acid peels, TCA peels, and glycolic acid peels that range in strength from 30%-70%. We're excited to be offering the latest sensation in peels! The VI peel was designed for people on the go who would like more visible results than a light peel offers, but cannot commit to the down time of a deeper peel. Using the combined efforts of TCA, salicylic acid, phenol, retinoic acid, vitamins and microelements it is a proven effective treatment for aging, hyperpigmentation and acne.  Depth of peeling action may also depend on factors such as how long solutions remain on the skin an whether they are lightly applied, or more heavily or vigorously applied.

Technique

The doctor will select the best chemical peel for the individual patient. A solution is applied-using a gauze saturated with the strength of AHA selected to the areas to be treated (or the entire face, avoiding the eyes, brows and lips. Generally, the most superficial peels are those using glycolic acid. Various concentrations of an AHA may be applied weekly or at longer intervals to obtain the best result.

Benefits:

AHA: Glycolic acid

• No anesthesia or sedation is needed, and the patient will feel only a mild tingling or stinging sensation when the solution is applied
• Sometimes a single treatment will give skin a healthier, radiant look.
• No downtime-patient can immediately resume normal activities
• Can be mixed with a facial cream or wash in milder concentrations as part of a daily skin-care regimen.
